UV Protection

All iPOP sunglasses are UV400, offering full protection from harmful UV rays.

If you're after polarised lenses – ideal for cutting glare while driving, fishing, skiing, and more – just look for “Polarised” in the product name or description. These styles have special lenses that reduce glare.

iPOP sunglasses also carry a protection category rating that meets both US and EU safety standards, so you’re getting solid UV protection either way.

In New Zealand, sunglasses are classified under the AS/NZS 1067.1:2016 standard. Lenses are rated from 0 to 4 based on how dark they are and how much UV they block. Categories 2 and 3 are best for everyday use – they cut glare and UV without going too dark. Most of our sunnies are fitted with category 3 lenses.

Everything’s sorted from our Nelson HQ. No drop shipping, we just send your eyewear direct to you.

For international orders, we ship worldwide with tracked Air Mail.

How long will it take to receive my order?

We sort process orders daily and ship them out within 1-2 days with NZ Post's tracked non-signature service.

All orders are shipped direct from Nelson. For international orders, we use tracked NZ Post's Air Mail.

We’re based in Nelson – or Whakatū, as the locals say – a lively spot up north on the South Island with over 54,000 people. The scenery’s unreal, the arts scene’s buzzing, and the coastal towns nearby are proper stunners.

What are Polarised sunglasses?

Polarised lenses cut glare and sharpen what you see, perfect for bright sun or shiny spots like water, snow, or metal. They’ve got a coating that blocks horizontal light waves, the stuff that dazzles, while letting vertical ones through for clear sight.

What are blue light glasses?

What are G15 Lenses?

G-15 Lenses are a type of green lens that allows only 15% of light to pass through. Originally developed in the 1930s by Ray Ban and the US Air Force, these lenses were designed to help pilots combat the blinding glare they faced while flying.

What is your return policy?

At iPOP, we’re all about keeping you happy with your buy, exchanges or refunds are no sweat. Not chuffed with your sunglasses? Get in touch within three days of delivery.

Send them back in perfect nick, with all the original packaging. Once they’re here, we’ll sort your exchange or refund in 3-5 business days, smooth and quick.

If you got free shipping and want a refund, we’ll take our shipping costs off the total, fair deal. Got a busted or dodgy pair? Let us know straight away, we’ll swap them out fast.

Cheap Sunglasses v Expensive Sunglasses

Research has shown that high prices do not guarantee optimal UVA protection. According to a 1995 study, expensive brand names do not necessarily provide better UV protection.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has also stated that price alone cannot be relied upon as an indicator of quality. Even an unscientific survey found that a generic $9.95 pair of glasses offered slightly better protection than some branded sunglasses.
