A Smaller Aviator for Faces Standard Sizing Does Not Suit

The Echo polarised aviator is one of those shapes that looks great on some people and completely swamps others. The Echo is built for the second group. At 13.5 cm wide and 4.5 cm high it runs noticeably smaller than a standard aviator, which makes it a much more practical option for narrower faces, smaller face profiles, or anyone who has tried the classic sizing and found it sitting halfway down their nose.

The translucent grey frame keeps things light and contemporary, and the super dark grey lenses give it a depth that works well against the softer frame tone.

Translucent frames have a way of sitting naturally on the face without competing with your features, which is part of why the combination works. The dark lenses pull focus without the frame getting in the way.

Polarised Category 3 for high sun conditions.

Size: 13.5 cm wide x 4.5 cm high.

Polarised Lenses

New Zealand sun is some of the most intense in the world, and standard tinted lenses only solve part of the problem. They darken the view but leave the glare. iPOP polarised lenses have a built-in glare-filtering layer that targets the specific type of light that causes the problem in the first place.

How polarised lenses work

Glare happens when sunlight bounces off a flat surface, water, wet roads, a car bonnet and hits your eyes as a concentrated horizontal beam. Your eyes struggle to process it, so you squint, strain, and lose visual detail in the process. Polarised lenses block that horizontal light before it reaches your eyes, so surfaces become readable again rather than a wall of reflected brightness. On a typical New Zealand summer day, the difference is noticeable within minutes of putting them on.

Where it makes a real difference

Driving Cuts glare off wet roads and oncoming windscreens so you're not squinting into the morning sun
Fishing and water See below the surface instead of staring at a mirror of reflected sky
Beach and outdoors Reduces the all-day eye fatigue that builds up when everything around you is reflecting light
Sport and activity Sharper contrast and truer colours so you can read terrain, track movement and react faster
