Eclipse Polarised Sunglasses, PZ-6001-ACE

The Eclipse is a tortoise acetate frame with wood temple tips and superdark polarised lenses. A natural material combination that looks refined without being showy.

Acetate is a plant-based material that sits comfortably against the skin and holds colour well over time. The wood temple tips add a warm natural contrast to the tortoise pattern, keeping the overall look grounded and easy to wear.

Acetate and wood temples with wire core keep things durable without adding weight. Superior stainless steel hinges add strength where frames tend to wear out first.

Superdark Category 3 polarised lenses rated for strong NZ sun, cutting reflected glare from water, roads and bright surfaces.

Size: 13.5 cm wide x 4.5 cm high.

Choosing between polarised and standard lenses? Our guide breaks down what polarised sunglasses actually do.

Polarised Lenses

New Zealand sun is some of the most intense in the world, and standard tinted lenses only solve part of the problem. They darken the view but leave the glare. iPOP polarised lenses have a built-in glare-filtering layer that targets the specific type of light that causes the problem in the first place.

How polarised lenses work

Glare happens when sunlight bounces off a flat surface, water, wet roads, a car bonnet and hits your eyes as a concentrated horizontal beam. Your eyes struggle to process it, so you squint, strain, and lose visual detail in the process. Polarised lenses block that horizontal light before it reaches your eyes, so surfaces become readable again rather than a wall of reflected brightness. On a typical New Zealand summer day, the difference is noticeable within minutes of putting them on.

Where it makes a real difference

Driving Cuts glare off wet roads and oncoming windscreens so you're not squinting into the morning sun
Fishing and water See below the surface instead of staring at a mirror of reflected sky
Beach and outdoors Reduces the all-day eye fatigue that builds up when everything around you is reflecting light
Sport and activity Sharper contrast and truer colours so you can read terrain, track movement and react faster
